The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, as winner of the governorship election held on Saturday.
According to INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, who announced the results of the election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu polled total votes of 223,619 votes, while Obaseki polled 307,955 votes.
The results as recorded by the two major political parties are below:
