#NigeriaDecides2023 – ASHENEWS reports that Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has described the election of president-elect, Bola Ahmad Tinubu, as a great success and a sign of renewed hope for Nigeria.
Wamakko spoke on Friday at his Gawon Nama Residence shortly after returning from Abuja where he personally visited Tinubu Abuja to congratulate him on his landslide victory during Saturday’s presidential poll.
He expressed confidence that Asiwaju’s government will bring more positive and numerous developmental projects to bolster the growth of Nigeria.
He thanked the people of Sokoto State for voting Senator Tinubu massively during the polls, urging them to replicate the feat during the forthcoming Governorship and State Assembly elections.
Wamakko also called on the electorate to come out en masse without any fear of intimidation from anybody and cast their votes to APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto and all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the seats of the State House of Assembly on March 11.
In another development, Wamakko has expressed dismay over a video clip that went viral on social media platforms of a high personality in one of the political parties, calling on members of the vigilante group and thugs to support him actualise his political dreams.
Wamakko said that the personality should know he was given the Holy Book (Qur’an) to swear that he will protect the integrity, lives and property of the good people of all Sokoto state, but he resorted to go violent just for achieving his political goals.
He advised the personality to fear the Almighty Allah and rescind his action in the best interest of the people of the state.
Wamakko further explained that on their part, they relied on the Almighty Allah and will continue to pray for His intervention and help towards all their successes at all levels.
Wamakko refuted the claim made by that personality who said “Sokoto is facing challenges all over.”
Responding, Wamakko said, “Sokoto is not facing any challenge as pronounced by the said personality.”
According to Wamakko, the statement was an act of ignorance, and urged the people to disregard it.
He called on people of the state to go out peacefully on Saturday, the 11th of March and vote for the candidates of their choice and pray for APC to emerge victorious.
Meanwhile, APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has received Kasimu Malami Kofar Atiku from Sarkin Zamfara A Ward of Sokoto South Local Government who decamped to APC from the ruling PDP in the State.
Ahmad Aliyu, while welcoming the new comer into APC, assured him of equal treatment in the affairs of APC.
Kasimu Malami said he joined APC to ensure its success during the forthcoming gubernatorial election next week Saturday.
