The Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, and other key stakeholders have met with the Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, to address issues surrounding the Dangote Refinery.
Recall that Dangote and Nigeria’s regulatory authorities have recently been in a dispute over the refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.
This conflict escalated when the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) announced that the government had yet to license the refinery for operational commencement.
As part of efforts to resolve the issues, Lokpobiri and other industry players met with Dangote on Monday.
According to a statement by Nneamaka Okafor, Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Minister, attendees included Farouk Ahmed, Authority Chief Executive of NMDPRA; Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); and Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).
