ASHENEWS reports that the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee visited Kebbi state, to investigate the N2.3 trillion TETFunds projects executed in various tertiary institutions cross the country.
The chairman of the committee, Idem Unyime told the deputy governor, Umar Abubakar during a courtesy call in his office in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, that they were in the state to investigate the projects carried out under the TETFunds in tertiary institutions within the state.
According to him, the committee was mandated to go round the northern states to investigate the activities carried out in both federal and state tertiary institutions.
Mr. Idem explained that the House of Representatives set up the committee on 14 July this year considering the importance of education to the societal development.
He commended the state government for the good reception, and solicited for its support and cooperation in carrying out their mandate.
Responding, the deputy governor Abubakar assured the committee of all necessary support and cooperation to enable them discharge their duty.
According to him, the activities of the committee would assist the state because many projects in tertiary institutions were abandoned.
He stressed the need to mobilize the contractors back to the sites or cancel the contract and reaward it to capable hands for completion.
Present at the occasion were the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala; Head of Service, Sufiyanu Garba Bena; Chief of Staff Government House, Barr. Attahiru Maccido, Commissioners and some local government chairmen, among others.
