ASHENEWS reports that a Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, nullified the ward and local government congresses conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state.
The congresses were conducted on February 7, 2023, to nominate the party’s candidate for the November governorship election.
Recall that aggrieved members of the APC led by Realwan Okpanachi, approached the court to nullify the two congresses conducted in the party in the state.
Delivering judgment on Wednesday, Justice James Omotosho barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), from using the unlawful delegates list that emanated from the unlawful congresses for the party to select its governorship flagbearer.
According to the court, the two congresses were not conducted in compliance with the Electoral Act 2022 and the Constitution of the APC.
