Gunmen on Saturday night, abducted the Dodo of Wawa, Dr Mahmud Aliyu from his palace in Wawa, Borgu local government area of Niger state.
A reliable source, Musa Borgu told ASHENEWS in a telephone conversation that four armed men stormed the palace in the evening and abducted the traditional ruler.
“Four of them came to the palace in the evening with guns. They gained access into where he was seated with his subjects. They asked him to stand up and ordered everyone else to remain seated.
“The gunmen then asked for his mobile phone which was brought to them and they whisked away on motorcycle.
“They started shooting sporadically when people started shouting for help,” Borgu told ASHENEWS.
Efforts to get official confirmation from the spokesperson of Niger state Police Command was abortive because our call went unanswered.
