The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has donated relief items to the people of Otuasega and Oruma in Bayelsa State, who were affected by flooding.
The NDDC said the donation, done with the help of a local organization, is part of its responsibility to support people in the Niger Delta region.
During the distribution, NDDC Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku explained that the donation matches the goals of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.
“This was shared in a statement released on Saturday in Port Harcourt by the NDDC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama.
Ogbuku, who was represented by Mrs. Chioma Nwakwe, Deputy Director for Education, Health, and Social Services, said the Commission had also recently launched its 2025 Free Medical Mission in the region.

Ogbuku said they returned again, with support from the First Lady, to give out relief materials to the people of Otuasega.
He stressed that the NDDC is committed to helping communities in need and supporting people during hard times.
He also mentioned that other communities besides Otuasega and Oruma would receive similar support. This donation was made in partnership with a local NGO called the Ednest Egerue Foundation.
The foundation’s founder, Susan Ibiama, praised the NDDC for helping communities in the Niger Delta during tough times.
She thanked the Commission for working with her foundation, noting that the flood had caused serious damage to the local economy.
