The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safe, responsive, and patient-focused healthcare services across all secondary healthcare facilities in the state.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, gave the assurance on Tuesday during a routine visit to Ogidi Cottage Hospital in Ilorin.

He said quality healthcare delivery is anchored on trust, safety, and mutual respect between healthcare providers and patients.

Malik noted that patients must feel safe and secure in the hands of care providers, adding that the present administration places a high priority on patient-centred care.

150 Nurses recruited for state facilities

He revealed that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq recently recruited no fewer than 150 nurses for deployment across all facilities under the Hospitals Management Board.

“The Ogidi Cottage Hospital will undergo complete renovation to improve infrastructure and create a more conducive environment for both patients and healthcare workers,” he said.

He stated that the upgrade would enable the community to enjoy better healthcare services while providing hospital staff with a comfortable working environment to deliver optimal care.

Emphasis on proper medical records management

The Executive Secretary also underscored the critical role of proper medical records management in healthcare delivery.

He explained that accurate and well-maintained patient records enhance continuity of care, strengthen clinical decision-making, and improve patient recovery outcomes.

Malik reaffirmed the Board’s dedication to continuous monitoring and supervision of facilities to ensure efficient service delivery across the state’s secondary healthcare institutions.
