ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi state government says it will sustain partnerships with two Pharmaceutical companies, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine to strengthen the state health sector.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki.
The statement said that the governor, Nasir Idris stated this while receiving the management team of the two companies who visited him at the Government House, in Birnin Kebbi.
The governor said that his administration was committed to the provision of quality healthcare services to the people.
Idris also acknowledged the works of the wife of the former Governor of the state, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu in creating awareness and treatment of cancer-related issues.
The governor equally directed the Commissioner for Health to hold consultations with the management of the two Pharmaceutical companies to chart the best course of action to accelerate the performance of the partnership.
In their respective remarks, the Managing Director of Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine Mr. Ikewchukwu Ifuwana, and the General Manager of Roche Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Ladi Hameed both restated their commitment to netting their obligations as stipulated by their contracts with the government.
