The Reproductive Health Coordinator in Jigawa state, Mrs Amina Dauda, has said that the state recorded significant improvement in family planning service delivery in 2024.
She stated this on Tuesday in Dutse during the annual review meeting of family planning, organised by the Challenge Initiative (TCI), for Reproductive Health Coordinators in the state.
Dauda said the feat was achieved sequel to the sustained advocacy by the TCI, aimed at strengthening reproductive and family planning services at the grassroots.
She lauded the TCI for its commitment towards creating awareness and enhancing access to quality family planning services.
“Jigawa state recorded improvement since inception of the TCI programme, it trained service providers to achieve the set goals.
“TCI is a good social mobiliser and guides stakeholders to the right direction in family planning,” she said.
The Programme Manager, TCI, Ankale Kongude, said the meeting would review the implementation of the programme with a view to providing solutions to challenges impeding its progress.
He said the meeting also aimed to promote networking among major family planning stakeholders across 13 participating local government areas of the state.
According to him, the programme will strengthen data application in decision-making to formulate solutions for improved family planning service delivery.
This, he said would stimulate scaling up of the TCI’s high-impact service delivery approach in the state.
