ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State Ministry for Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare has closed down five private clinics in the state for violating healthcare regulations.
The Inspectorate Division of the Ministry for Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare announced this in a statement issued on Sunday.
The statement signed by the Deputy Director, of Medical Services and Training, Dr Usman Abubakar Bosso said that the decisions were made during an inspection visit to some private health facilities in the state.
The ministry stated that the clinics were closed down, for among other reasons, non-registration with the Ministry of Health, non-renewal of facility registration for the year 2023 as well as the use of unqualified Staff by the facilities.
“The five affected facilities are Prince Clinic Tunga, Union Diagnostic Minna, and Triple Medical Diagnostic Bosso. Others are Chall Dental Minna and Daza PHC, Beji.
“They were given up to Monday the 18th of September, 2023 to reconcile their documents with the Ministry,” the statement said.
The ministry also said that several other clinics were cautioned over poor hygienic conditions during the exercise.
It added that the ministry will embark on such unscheduled visits to private facilities to raise standards.
