The Anambra State Government has announced several big projects, including plans to build a state rehabilitation center to help people with mental health problems. It is also getting ready to open the Solution Fun City to the public on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
The Solution Fun City is one of the important projects started by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. It was officially launched by President Bola Tinubu during his one-day visit to Anambra on May 8.
On Tuesday, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, confirmed that the Solution Fun City will be opened to everyone on Saturday, June 28.
He said this decision was made during the 12th meeting of the Anambra State Executive Council, held on June 23, 2025, at the Light House in Awka.
One of the major decisions made at that meeting was the plan to build a rehabilitation center in Nibo, Awka, to help people with mental health challenges.
He said, “The government has set June 28, 2025, to open the Solution Fun City to the public. A popular musician from Anambra, Chinedu Okoli, also known as Flavour, will lead a group of famous musicians, including Umu-Obiligbo, to perform at the event.”
The event is free and open to anyone who wants to attend.
The state also plans to build a mental health rehabilitation center in Nibo, within the Awka Capital Territory, to help people fully recover after leaving asylums before returning to their families.
The council also discussed the Anambra Rebirth Programme. They agreed that it should focus on restoring the Igbo Apprenticeship system (Igba Boi), promoting hard work and honesty, and discouraging bad behavior such as showing off wealth without real work.
The commissioner said the council approved several contracts. One is worth ₦417,319,619.85, given to Triseconds Resources Ltd, to build the rehabilitation center in Nibo.
Another contract of ₦72,598,200.88 was awarded to Achufusi Ventures to move and expand the Solution Hub & Park at Aroma Junction, Awka.
A third contract worth ₦414,907,757.85 was given to Navigator Sign Ltd to build walkways, kerbs, and improve the appearance of the Ekwulobia Flyover.
