Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke has expressed the readiness of his administration to ensure that the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo provides efficient health care delivery service for the people and also trains medical personnel effectively.

The governor spoke while receiving members of the board of the hospital and its management team led by the board chairman, Niyi Owolade who paid him a visit on Wednesday.

The Governor assured that his administration will improve the services of the facility to ensure that it provides quality health care services for the people and ensures proper training of manpower in the medical profession.

Speaking earlier, the Board Chairman, Owolade appreciated the Governor for all his progressive activities since he took over the reign of government as the Chief Executive Officer of the state.

He said his commitment to healthcare delivery was unusual, even as he thanked him for coming to the aid of the teaching hospital anytime he was called upon to do so.

Owolade appealed to the Governor to improve facilities in the hospital, saying that the hospital is in need of some medical equipment to aid the care, training and research for which the facility is known.

He also called for improvement on staff needs, especially those in charge of the outreach centres.

Besides, Owolade appealed for capital funding of the hospital, saying that the hospital needs funds for accreditation, which is usually a regular and recurrent activity for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Also, he appealed to the Governor to assist the hospital by regulating and upgrading the 2012/2013 staff of the hospital as well as the casual workers in the facility.
