Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, has described the death of the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris as a great loss, not only to the Zazzau Emirate but also to the Sokoto Caliphate and Nigeria as a whole.
The governor made the comment when he paid condolence visit to the Emir’s Palace in Zaria on Sunday.
Tambuwal described the late Emir as a wise and reputable leader, who made valuable contribution to the affairs of Nigeria.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Emir and his subjects the fortitude to bear with the irreparable loss.
The Governor was accompanied on the visit by his Finance Commissioner, Abdussamad Dasuki and former member of the House of Representatives, Kawu Sumaila, among others.
Responding, the Waziri of Zazzau expressed the appreciation of the Zazzau Emirate Council and the people of Zazzau for the out pouring of sympathy and good will.
