Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has said that Nigerians should not complain about President Bola Tinubu’s ‘economic cbaos’ because they had the opportunity to vote right.
Amaechi, during his appearance on Arise TV, said Nigerians deserve whatever they get from leaders at the helm of affairs whom they voted for during the election.
“Nigerians get what they want, what they deserve. You can’t complain. I think…(sic). Nigerians at all times had had opportunities to vote. Whatever you vote for is what you deserve,” he said during the weekend.
Although Nigerians are lamenting the harsh effects of President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, Amaechi did not mention names.
Since Mr Tinubu assumed office as Nigeria’s president, the country’s socioeconomy continued to worsen, especially with the rise in foreign exchange rates – dollars.
Commenting on the nation’s current economy under Mr Tinubu, the former minister said Nigerians could seek greener pastures and explore opportunities abroad.
However, he explained that Nigeria has several opportunities if the youths who continue to leave the country are willing to tap into the resources around them.
“I have always discouraged those who want to leave the country, I say 9-5? Yes, you can always get 9-5 job when you leave the country, but you can never get the opportunity you get in Nigeria.
“You can just wake up one day and become a minister in Nigeria. You can just wake up one day, and you become a governor. It just happens; I don’t know how the country operates,” said the former governor.
He listed insecurity and lack of employment creation as factors driving citizens outside the country, adding that only the government can solve the challenges.
“So if you’re looking for opportunities, please stay in Nigeria,” Mr Amaechi added.
