ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor Mohammed Bago says the state has reconstructed 400km of federal roads out of the 1,000km so far reconstructed across the state.
The governor stated this when he performed the groundbreaking of 118 km road comprising 3 road projects in Kontagora as part of his Urban Renewal Policy.
The governor noted that his administration was not unaware of the importance of good road networks to development, stating further that it would embark on road projects to ameliorate the sufferings of citizens plying the roads.
He said the reconstruction of the Kontagora-Rijau road has been approved by the Federal road as it is a trunk ‘A’ road adding that the Federal government has also given a nod to the State for the reconstruction of the 41km dualization of the Kakkaki-Minna road and 91km Rofia-Borgu roads which are all Federal roads.
Bago said that the projects, when completed, will improve the movement of goods to other places.
He assured that the Contractors for the projects were carefully selected based on their track records and they would be put on their toes to deliver standard projects.
This online platform reports that the road projects in Niger state include the reconstruction of the 90km Kontagora-Rijau road, the construction of the 19.4 km Kontagora Western bypass Ring-Road and the 8.7 km Kontagora Eastern bypass Ring-Roads.
The Kontagora-Rijau road reconstruction is to be carried out by Triacta Nigeria Ltd while the Western and Eastern bypass Ring-Roads are to be constructed by Brosini Nigeria Ltd.
