The Nigerian government says it has traced ₦83 billion to Pidom, the detained anonymous Nigerian whistleblower, whose name is now revealed as Isaac Bristol, has been accused of terrorism funding, espionage, treasonable felony, computer wire fraud and unauthorised removal of classified documents, sources privy to the matter say.

According to new information obtained by the Foundation of Investigative Journalism (FIJ), the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) said the N83 billion in cryptocurrency it uncovered in early August was traced to Pidom’s account.

The security unit claimed it was part of the funds used to fund the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest.

“From the petitions, the biggest allegations against him are a breach of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) and terrorism funding,” an anonymous insider told FIJ.

The OSA forbids the unauthorised distribution of any information deemed by any government branch to be harmful to Nigeria’s security.

Pidom’s X handle, @PIDOMNIGERIA is known for leaking indicting documents against the Nigerian government. The account has been a critical voice against government actions and oppressive policies.

Bristol is currently held at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), under the watch of the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC).

It was gathered that although he’s in FCID custody, his case is being handled by the NSA led by by Nuhu Ribadu.

Pidom was arrested in Port Harcourt on August 5 by police cyber crime team following a petition filed against him.
