Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and Chairman of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria (NTRCN), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Emir of Gusau, Dr. Ibrahim Bello.
In a condolence message released by his Media Team on Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Sultan extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Zamfara State, the Gusau Emirate Council, and the bereaved family of the late monarch who died on Thursday, July 24.
The Sultan paid glowing tribute to the late Emir, describing him as “a dedicated traditional leader who consistently prioritized the welfare and security of his subjects, while working earnestly with both state and local governments to ensure seamless collaboration.”
He added that the loss means different things to different people but emphasized that “his demise represents the loss of a deeply beloved and committed member of the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria.”
Sultan Abubakar praised the Emir’s cooperation with initiatives promoting peace, unity, and development, noting that such efforts “did not go unnoticed.”
“In the late Emir, we have lost a brother, a leader, and a friend, whose absence will be profoundly felt. Yet, we must remain grateful to Allah for the life he lived; although we wished for many more years with him, it is Allah who determines the duration of life,” the statement read.
The Sultan concluded with prayers for the deceased: “Innalillahi wa innailayhi raji’un; from Allah we came, and to Him we shall all return… We pray that those he left behind will continue his good work, and we ask Allah to forgive him all his sins and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus. Amin.”
The passing of Emir Dr. Ibrahim Bello has left a void in the traditional leadership of Zamfara State, where he was widely respected for his wisdom, humility, and commitment to communal harmony.
