The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus on Wednesday, commissioned a N420 million semi urban water scheme at Wamakko local government area of Sokoto state.
The project, which is a brain child of Governor Aminu Tambuwal, has a reticulation reach of 7 km and is expected to supply 1.5 millon gallons per-day to populace.
Speaking while commissioning the project, Secondus said that the provision of portable drinking water by Gov. Tambuwal will go a long way in improving healthcare delivery in the state and also impact on agricultural productivity.
According to him, the people of the state were lucky to have Gov. Tambuwal, who is clearly on a mission to improve the lives of his people, at the helm of affairs.
The PDP Chairman, on behalf of the PDP National Working Committee, (NWC) congratulated Gov. Tambuwal for his giant strides in the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Tambuwal said when he took the mantle of leadership he realised the need to provide portable drinking water to the people thus his drive in that direction.
According to the Deputy Governor, Manir Dan’Iya said the project is among the 17 water projects so far completed by the Tambuwal administration, while similar ones are being constructed in 21 out of the 23 local government areas in rhe state.
