…ICPC pays homage to Sokoto Police Command
The Sokoto State Police Command on Thursday, presented cheques amounting to N13 million to three families of Police officers who lost their lives while in active service.
Presenting the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Usaini Gumel said it was in line with Group Life Assurance initiative aimed at improving the capacity and welfare for families of police officers that lost their lives in the line of duty.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, DSP Abubakar Sanusi made available to ASHENEWS on Friday, Gumel donated N450,000 and letters of condolence to three other families of policemen, who recently lost their lives in ghastly car accidents.
While consoling the families, the CP added that the officers were hardworking and dedicated officers.
Similarly, the zonal director of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Salisu Kano paid homage to the police Commissioner, praising him for the media interaction he recently held with executives of all media organisations in the state.
As part of Gumel’s passion for all inclusive policing towards peaceful religious social and economic environment, he recently interfaced with media executives in the state.
The NBC Zonal Director applaud CP Gumel for the giant strides of the command under his leadership.
Kano expressed happiness with Gumel’s policing style and assured him of the Commission’s determination to support his mission.
Again, in the spirit of inter-agency collaboration, the Commissioner of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), paid homage to the police command, seeking support towards achieving their commission’s mandate.
