ASHENEWS reports that the Sokoto State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state over the victory of the party at the Supreme Court.
The NUJ, in a statement issued on Thursday also reminded the governor to keep up with his campaign promises.
The statement was jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the union, Dalhatu Abdullahi Safiyal Magori and Muhammad Nasir Bello.
“With the conclusion of the legal proceedings, the Union urges the State government to prioritize addressing the impact of the high cost of living, particularly among low-income earners, including the State Workforce.
“Additionally, the Union wishes Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto success in effectively steering the State’s affairs.
“The Council also reminds Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto on his promises to continue to initiate viable projects and invest in the completion of inherited projects across the State,” the statement said.
