The chairman of Shiroro local government council in Niger state, Akilu Isyaku Kuta has charged Directors of various departmental in the local government to ensure harmony and collective responsibility in order for all to embrace the democratic principles and ideals.
A statement by the senior assistant information officer, Abubakar Abdullahi el-Kurebe made available to ASHENEWS on Thursday, said Akilu made the call while addressing the various departments heads of the local government on Wednesday.
He harped on the need to foster unity and mutual understanding amongst workers and this administration.
According to the chairman, the dividends of democracy could only be achieved if there is overwhelming support by the directors and the entire staff of the council.
He maintained that his administration is doing everything possible to take the local government to greater heights.
Akilu enjoined them to work tirelessly to sustain the existing peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in the local government, Niger state and the country at large.
Speaking earlier, the Director of Administration, Zakari Umar who spoke on behalf of other directors, commended the council chairman for his selfless and people-oriented service delivery in the area and prayed for him to succeed during his tenure in office.
