Former Lagos State governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria as they mark the end of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-el-Fitr 1446 A.H.
In a message addressed to the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, Rhodes-Vivour expressed his best wishes to the entire Muslim community across the nation.
“As the crescent moon of Shawwal has been sighted, marking the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, I join millions of well-wishers across our great nation in celebrating this joyous occasion with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” he said.
Rhodes-Vivour acknowledged the significance of Ramadan as a period of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion, commending the commitment of the faithful to fasting, prayer, and acts of charity. He emphasized that these virtues are crucial not only for personal growth but also for strengthening national unity and harmony, especially during challenging times.
“I pray that the blessings of this Eid bring joy, peace, and prosperity to all Nigerian Muslims and indeed all Nigerians. May the Almighty Allah accept your fasting, prayers, and good deeds during the past month,” he added.
Concluding his message, he wished the Sultan and the entire Muslim Ummah a blessed and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration, saying, “Eid Mubarak!”
Eid-el-Fitr, one of the most significant Islamic festivals, marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated with prayers, feasting, and acts of kindness among family, friends, and the less privileged.
