In the sane vein, the president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero on Sunday, said that the union may demand N1 million as the new minimum wage for government workers.
Responding to the duo, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Nigeria’s richness has been exaggerated.
Onanuga made this known during his appearance on a monitored Arise News TV’s program on Monday.
“Nigeria is a very very poor country, to be honest. I think our wealth is overestimated,” he said. “I think we have a poor estimation of the wealth of the country, we are a very poor country.”
Speaking on Tinubu’s the economic policies, Onanuga said with the removal of subsidies on petrol and the unification of the exchange rate, the government is hoping that the pressure on the country’s finances will reduce.
