Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali has enjoined the new police constables to respect the Rule of Law and fundamental human rights of the people.
Alkali gave the charge at the passing out parade of the 422 police constables recruited for training seven months ago at Police Training School Minna on Wednesday.
No fewer than 10,000 constables were trained in police colleges and training schools across the country.
Alkali’s speech was read by AIG Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) Abuja, Mr Habu Ahmadu.
He said that the 422 police constables were drawn from Niger, Kaduna, Sokoto and FCT, Abuja.
He urged them to toe the line of honour and shun acts capable of tarnishing the image of the police “as there is no place for corrupt, indolent and disgruntled officers.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger Command, Mr Monday Kuryas, appraised the recruitment process for recruiting young police constables.
Kuryas lauded the effort of the Niger government for supporting the police and other security agencies operating in the state.
ACP Amodu Aloko, the commandant of the school, appreciated the police high authority for their managerial roles in renovation of hostels and drilling of borehole.
Other achievements according to the commandant are construction of more toilets, renovation of pavilion and provision of sporting equipment before the commencement of the training which make the institution comfortable for the recruits.
