ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi state police command has said that it will clamp down on violators of the ban on unauthorized use of sirens and unregistered plate numbers in the state.
The command stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday by the command’s public relations officer, Nafi’u Abubakar.
“The Kebbi state police command wishes to remind members of the public that, the order for the war against abuse of Diplomatic number plates, use of unregistered vehicles and covered number plates, unauthorized use of siren and tinted glasses is still enforce.”
The commands spokesperson said that the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Samuel Titus Musa has directed his tactical commanders, Area Commanders and DPOS to clamp down on the abuse of such order.
He also ordered the arrest and prosecution of violators.
He warned that the vehicles, sirens and plate numbers of violators will be impounded if found guilty.
The statement further urged residents of Kebbi State to desist from contravening the order, as anyone found violating the order will be sanctioned.
