A Philanthropist and Managing Director of Tanko Furniture Factory Ltd, Sokoto, Dr Zayyanu Attahiru has donated an ultramodern clinic to the Rijiyar Dorowa Community in Sokoto South local government of Sokoto state.
Inaugurating the clinic on Wednesday, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Mohammed Inname assured that the ministry would partner with organisations or individuals wishing to contribute towards the improvement of health services in the state.
He commended Attahiru for his efforts in bolstering the socioeconomic and educational development of the state.
Inname added that the clinic came at a right time when the people were in dire need of such services.
The Commissioner appealed to people in the state, especially the wealthy ones to complement government’s efforts to improve healthcare services in the state.
He said that the ministry would take over the running of the clinic.
Also speaking, Umarun-Kwabo A. A. donated N500,000 for the provision of drugs and other medicaments at the clinic.
Represented by the State PDP Treasurer, Murtala Dan-Iya, Umarun-Kwabo further promised to buy the neighbouring houses to the clinic for expansion.
In his part, Attahiru said that the gesture was part of his efforts to improve the provision of basic health services to the people of the state.
