…..Osolo of Isolo mourns Akeredolu, welcomes Aiyedatiwa’s emergence

The Osolo of Isolo Kingdom in Akure South local government area of Ondo state, Oba (Dr) Edward Adewole, Osalade II, has mourned, with regrets, the death of the governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

The monarch, who described the passing of the governor as a rude shock, said his good legacies will not be wished away in a hurry.

Oba Adewole, who was presented his Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment by Governor Akeredolu one year, one week and six days ago previsely on Thursday December 15, 2022, said the royalty and entire people of Isolo kingdom will continue to remember the great service that Akeredolu, his then deputy and now substantive Governor and state executive council did to make Isolo town proud among comity of royals in Ondo State.

In a statement personally signed by Oba Adewole, dated December 28, 2023 and circulated to the press in Isolo on Thursday, the Osolo of Isolo described late Akeredolu as lover of people, who used truth, honesty and straightforwardness, backed with fearlessness and resilience, in the pursuit of justice as a dodged fighter for rights of human, community and state rights.

“Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN), CON, was a great man in his lifetime and remains same even in death. His demise in Germany in the early hours of Wednesday touches me and my town’s people a lot because, coming by good people is not always easy. With Akeredolu, we had a good friend who made promises to make Isolo great and fulfilled those promises,” Oba Adewole mourned.

Welcome Aiyedatiwa

In the meantime, the Osolo has welcome the newly inaugurated Governor of Ondo State, Sir Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to office as substantive leader and chief security officer of the state.

“The policy of my royalty and the Osolo-in-Council is based on rule of law and cooperation with government of the state. We did not fail in this with the past government and, by God’s grace, we will not fail with the new government as we are traditionally prepared to collaborate and cooperate with the new administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa towards collectively achieving peaceful and greater Ondo State,” the Osolo said while congratulating the new governor.
