The management of the North West University Sokoto has said that it has not commenced admission of students into the different faculties of the institution.
An online platform, https://otutu.com.ng has published fake admission notice, specifically at https://otutu.com.ng/nigeria/northwest-university-sokoto-state-admission-forms-for-2022-2023post-utme-fom-2/, purported to have been approved by the North West University, thereby duping unsuspecting public of various amounts of money.
However, a statement by the Registrar of the university, Alhaji Umar Musa Garun Babba made available to newsmen on Friday, said North West University Sokoto had not commenced admission of students.
“We wish to notify the general public that North West University has not commenced admission of students into various academic programs.
“We however note that a certain NorthWest University Sokoto, has placed notice of admission on a website https://otutu.com.ng with the following information:

“We wish to categorically state that this is not only fake but a scam intended to dupe unsuspecting public who have desire to study at the North West University Sokoto.
“Preparations are on top gear to commence admission in September for which details of the application process would be wildly publicized and authentic website of the University be made known,” Garun Babba said.
He called on the general public to beware of scammers’ tricks and avoid being duped.
