ASHENEWS reports that 37 students of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, (IBBUL) will be awarded first-class degrees at its 4th Convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, disclosed this during a pre-convocation press briefing on Tuesday in Minna.
According to him, 954 students will be awarded second class upper degrees, 3293 with second class lower, while 1538 got third class and Pass degree 17.
Adamu said that 435 students also graduated from the University’s postgraduate degree programs which include Doctor of Philosophy, Masters of Art, Masters of Science, Master of Education, and Professional Master.
He added that in the 4th combined convocation, two overall best students emerged from each of the two sessions which include the 2019/2020 sessions.
The student, Muhammad Aisha Egbako from the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Production had a CGPA of 4.85 and for the 2020/2021 session, Ahmed Aisha Ketso from the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology had a CGPA of 4.81.
“The Overall best for each of the sessions are all female”, he said.
Adamu further said that the University was set to commence offering medical programs at the university for the 2022/2023 academic session.
He noted that four eminent Nigerians will be conferred with IBBUL Honorary Doctorate which includes, His Excellency, Simon Bako Lalong, Executive Governor of Plateau State: Honorary Doctor of Administration (Honoris Causa); Colonel Sani Bello, Chairman, Mainstream Energy Solutions: Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa); Malam Ibrahim Aliyu, Chairman, Aliyu Trust Foundation: Honorary Doctor of Entrepreneurship Development (Honoris Causa), and Alhaji AbdulSamad Isyaku Rabiu, Chairman BUA Group: Honorary Doctorate Degree of Business Management (Honoris Causa).
