ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state government says it has sponsored 50 youth from Niger state to Abeokuta, Ogun state to participate in a 3 months training on soilless farming, cutting-edge greenhouse technology, hydroponics, and the seamless integration of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture.
The Special Adviser to the Niger state governor on Social Investment Programs, Hauwa Bako Mohammed disclosed this while briefing journalists in Minna on Tuesday.
According to her, the program which is sponsored by MasterCard Foundation in collaboration with Soilless Farm Lab will equip participants with the knowledge of how to leverage techniques to cultivate high yield produce while conserving valuable resources.
“The integration of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture will enable participants to harness the power of technology to optimize farming operations, enhance decision making processes and streamline agricultural activities,” she said.
She added that the participants upon completion of the training will be mandated to step down the training to other youth in the state.
