Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello and chairman, North Central Governors Forum (NCGF), has restated his administration’s commitment to protecting the rights of the children.
Bello who stated this in a congratulatory message to the Nigerian children, particularly Nigerlites to mark this year’s children’s day, said children’s rights needed to be protected to shield them from any form of abuse and sufferings.
He said as the future leaders of tomorrow, the children need the basic education that will propel and prepare them for the task ahead.
The governor admonished both parents and teachers to ensure that the children acquire the education that will make them withstand the challenges of life even as he assured that his government will not relent in playing its role effectively and efficiently.
He acknowledged challenges the nation is going through at the moment, especially insecurity, saying all hands must be on deck to safeguard the children against activities of terrorists and as well ensure they do not take up to crime and criminality in the society.
“We all need to ensure that we give our children quality education and inculcate good morals in them, so that they will grow up and add value to the society rather than becoming problems,” he said.
The Governor prayed God to continue to guide and direct the Nigerian child to greatness irrespective of their backgrounds, while urging them not to loose hope with the current turbulent situation of the country but to remain resolute that their would be light at the end of the tunnel.
