ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State government says it has cleared the sum of N205 million owed to the West Africa Examination Board (WAEC).
The Special Assistant to the Niger State Governor on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso disclosed this while briefing journalists in Minna on Tuesday.
“You can recall that there was a time that WAEC withheld the results of Niger state students despite the fact that their parents paid the examination fees.
Wakaso said that the state government has also taken the initiative to pay the sum of N30 million monthly to WAEC to clear the backlog of debt accumulated from previous administrations.
She further disclosed that the state government has received samples of some compressed natural gas (CNG) driven buses.
This online platform reports that the Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago had signed a N7 billion agreement for the procurement of 200 CNG buses as part of the government’s long-term plan to casino the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on residents.
