ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state government has assured internally displaced persons in the state of improvement to their living conditions.
The Niger state governor, Mohammed stated this when he met with internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kuta, the headquarters of Shiroro local government area of Niger State.
Bago was represented during the visit by his deputy, Yakubu Garba.
The governor, while reiterating the commitment of the present administration to annihilate terrorism in the state said that the government will enhance the living conditions of the Displaced Persons.
At the condolence visits to several households, the Governor sympathized with the bereaved families and urged them to take solace in God.
Similarly, the governor earlier met with over 3,000 women from the area, where he assured them of the government’s commitment to empowering women to revamp their small-scale businesses.
This, he said will also boost the state’s revenue and entrench sanity into the political atmosphere of the state.
The governor further urged youth and community leaders to support the present government’s agenda of improving agriculture in the state.
He said that the government will provide fertiliser and other necessary farm machinery at accessible and affordable rates to encourage farmers.
This online platform reports that the governor’s visit to Kuta is in continuation of a tour of areas affected by insecurity in Shiroro local government.
The governor, also represented by his deputy earlier interfaced with security personnel, Internally Displaced Persons, community leaders, religious groups, women, and youth in Erena, Bagna, Galadima Kogo, Zumba, and Gwada.
The Governor expressed deep sympathy over the recent attacks on Bassa, Allawa, and Madaka communities, describing the attacks as heinous crimes against law-abiding citizens of the State.
He also commended the security forces for their selflessness, resilience, and dedication to protecting the sovereignty and integrity of Nigeria.
“Terrorism is a war, and there are several battles in a war. We win some battles and lose some, but the ultimate goal is winning the war, and we are well aware of this as we have renewed our efforts at ensuring that terrorism is tamed and that we shall achieve by the grace of Allah,” he said.
