The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed profound grief and extended heartfelt condolences to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, on the tragic loss of his mother, Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Namadi.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the NGF, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, the forum described the back-to-back losses as devastating.
“It is truly heartbreaking that within just 24 hours of mourning the passing of your beloved mother on December 25, 2024, Your Excellency has been confronted with yet another tragedy—the untimely demise of your 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab Namadi, in a road accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa road on December 26, 2024,” the statement read.
The NGF reaffirmed its solidarity with Governor Namadi, his family, and the people of Jigawa State during this profoundly difficult time. “We share in your sorrow and acknowledge the weight of this double loss as you navigate these moments of intense grief,” the forum stated.
The forum prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the governor and his family the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear these irreparable losses. “May Allah, in His infinite mercy, grant eternal rest to the souls of Hajiya Maryam Namadi and Abdulwahab Namadi and bring peace to your hearts,” the statement added.
The NGF pledged unwavering support for Governor Namadi during this time of sorrow. “The entire Nigeria Governors’ Forum mourns with you and offers our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences,” the statement concluded.
