Kebbi state governor and chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum, Abubakar Bagudu says there is none his party in Nigeria, just as he insists that the party would emerge more united and stronger after the Saturday’s national convention.
Bagudu spoke at the opening of the National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja, on behalf of the Progressives Governors’ Forum.
The Kebbi State Governor said that for APC, “this will make us successful, see us to the 2023 general elections and beyond.”
He also maintained that APC would surmount all the challenges as is a testimony by successful conduct of the convention.
According to him, “In readiness to the 2023 general elections, there is just no party like the APC.”
Bagudu eulogized President Muhammadu Buhari saying at the same time that the 22 APC governors were proud of his and the governors’ achievements across the country.
“In all the states there are success stories because of the inspiration of Buhari.’’
Bagudu also stated that Buhari had entrenched transparency, accountability and exemplary leadership and elivered on all the three issues he premised his campaign promises.
He enumerated them to include economy, security and accountability.
“He has laid a solid foundation for resilient economy , leading to the exit of Nigeria from recession, as well as surmounting the COVID-19 induced challenges, among others.”
Bagudu also stated that in all the states of the country, there are transformational projects at both federal and state levels.
“Various projects are being commissioned by him across the country in fulfillment of his campaign promises,” he added.
He congratulated Buhari and the APC, saying, “at last, we are here today, consistent to our belief of the guidance of the President.
“Buhari was able to build a party that follows the law, due process and the general interests of all the members.
“All the members are energetic and enthusiastic at the convention and the results will make every member proud,’’ he said.
Earlier, Kebbi state delegates converged on International Conference Center Abuja for screening and accreditation before proceeding to the venue of the convention, Eagle Square, Abuja for the election of the national executives of the party.
In line with the party’s arrangement, most of the winners emerged through consensus.
The Chief of Staff Government House, Dr Suleiman Argungu who vied for the post of National Organizing Secretary of the party emerged victorious through consensus following the withdrawal of other contestants of the same position.
