The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a minor reshuffle in its workforce, saying the move is aimed at eliminating redundancy and repositioning the Commission for more effective service delivery.
The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Commission’s Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations Officer, Fatima Usara.
According to her, the decision followed resolutions reached at the Board’s 14th sitting held between August 26 and 27, 2025.
“In line with the Board’s resolve, the Commission’s executive arm has effected the reposting of pool officers back to their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies with immediate effect. Accordingly, the affected officers were issued letters on September 4, 2025,” Usara said.
She explained that the decision was primarily taken to eliminate redundancy and reposition the Commission for enhanced efficiency, while also serving as motivation for staff to improve performance.
“To support the ongoing reforms, the Board approved the promotion of some deserving officers. It also endorsed capacity-building programmes for the entire workforce to equip staff with the requisite skills needed to achieve the Commission’s objectives,” she added.
Usara noted that NAHCON’s Chairman/CEO, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, has assured that the 5th Board remains committed to building an effective and resilient workforce dedicated to serving Nigerian pilgrims.
“Similarly, NAHCON will continue to introduce other reforms aimed at enhancing productivity,” she said.
