The Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), Abubakar Sadiq-Yelwa, has donated N10 million and assorted food items to victims of recent bandit attacks in Kebbi State.
The attacks affected Kawara, Binuwa, Kalkami, Dabe, Kasoshi, Kafar Giwa, and Sa Madubi communities in Shanga Local Government Area, leaving several dead and causing property losses worth millions of naira.

“We condemn this act of cowardice by criminal elements whose intention is to destabilise communities and deprive citizens of their means of livelihood,” he said.
The MD said the commission’s intervention includes N10 million in cash, 100 bags of 50kg rice, 100 bags of assorted grains, and other essential items such as cooking oil, seasoning, detergents, soap, blankets, and mats to support displaced residents.
Sadiq-Yelwa commended the government’s response to insecurity and expressed confidence in Gov. Idris’ commitment to restoring peace.
Representing the governor, Commissioner for Rural and Community Development Garba Salisu-Takware thanked N-HYPPADEC for its timely intervention and assured that the donations would be promptly distributed to affected victims. He added that the state government had also intensified measures to support displaced persons and strengthen security.
