ASHENEWS reports that the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State chapter says that the dexterity and steadfastness of Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi earned him President Tinubu’s confidence.
The State Chairman of NUJ, Abu Nmodu stated this in a statement issued by the Council’s Secretary, Usman Chiji.
“The Union is optimistic that the era of the new Minister will usher in the much-expected growth and development of the media and reawaken the consciousness of Nigerians on the need to see the task of promoting equity, justice, rule of law, and patriotism as a collective responsibility.
“The new Minister, as a successful media guru, has been singlehandedly superintending daily production of blueprint newspaper and successfully operating an FM radio station in the nation’s capital Abuja in this era of economic downturn.”
The statement added that Malagi as a professional and excellent media owner is well prepared to face the challenges, so long it will bring positive results in the end.
The council equally expressed optimism that the newly appointed minister would build bridges of tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
