Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, has urged Nigerians to take collective responsibility for communicating the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He said informed citizens play a vital role in building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
Hamzat spoke at the South-West Zonal Unity Walk organized by the Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) group in Lagos on Saturday.
It was reported that the group is a non-governmental initiative linked to Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son.
“It is important for all of us to be advocates, spreading the President’s achievements within our communities.
“We must go the extra mile to inform people, because many may not know what the President is doing,” Hamzat said.
He stressed that economic stability remains central to national progress and sustainability.
He said: “The President is doing everything to ensure Nigeria is financially sustainable.
“Any nation that is not financially sustainable will collapse. Though it will take time, the economy is becoming stable.”
Hamzat highlighted achievements, including policy stability, improved investor confidence and a more stable foreign exchange environment.
He noted that millions of students have benefited from the government’s loan programme, improving access to higher education.
“We are building the future of our country, and we must inform the people,” he said.
Similarly, the Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid.
“Support progress. Having seen this administration’s achievements, I urge you all to support him.
“The progress cuts across sectors, and all Nigerians are benefiting,” he said.
In his remarks, Sesan Olowa, Lagos coordinator of RTIFN, described Tinubu’s leadership as transformative in Nigeria’s contemporary history.
Olowa called for stronger backing for the President’s re-election despite prevailing economic challenges.
“The President has taken tough steps to stabilize the economy and strengthen the nation.
“That is why we believe he deserves a second term to continue his work,” he said.
Earlier, RTIFN Director-General, Ahmed Bala, said the group promotes accurate information and civic engagement.
“In an era of misinformation, we are bridging gaps with verified facts and balanced insights.
“We enlighten Nigerians at home and abroad on government policies and foster a more informed and united citizenry,” Bala said.
It was reported that APC leaders, support groups and RTIFN members from South-West states attended the unity walk in large numbers.
