ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris on Saturday presented the flags of the party to the candidates aspiring to be elected as the Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas at the epochal event.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki.
The statement said that the governor made the presentation during a mega rally in Koko, Koko Besse LGA of the state to kickstart the APC’s campaign for the forthcoming LG polls in Kebbi State.
The statement quoted the governor as recalling that various promises have been made to the people of the state during the 2023 general elections, which his administration is now fulfilling.
“This happy trajectory of even infrastructural development being done by the APC-led administration in the state will be hugely sustained with APC LG Chairmen in office.
“APC is the party to beat and it belongs to all the people of Kebbi State, all of us.
“This has been testified by the former PDP faithful who have just come on board the APC train.
“They are now part of the bigger, united APC family and we are all one now,” the statement said.
The governor who urged the party members to be committed, also appealed to the people of the state to renew their confidence in APC and massively vote its candidates during the polls.
Earlier, the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana announced that the party received many decampees from PDP prominent among them were the three State House of Assembly members from Argungu namely Umar NaAmore, Yusuf Tilli from Bunza and Hashimu Namaliyo from Yauri constituency.
Kana also presented other former PDP ward Chairmen and their Secretaries from Danko Wasagu, a prominent women leader, Lami Dudu with her supporters from Yauri Local Government who dumped the PDP and joined the APC.
He assured them of equal treatment in the party.
Present at the event were the former governors of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu and Saidu Dakingari, the former attorney general of the Federation, Abubakar Malami as well as other party executives.
