ASHENEWS reports that the Kano state government has directed the redeployment of the permanent secretary of the state Civil Service Commission, Mustapha Safiyanu Kabuga over alleged employment racketeering.
The government has equally announced the constitution of a three-man committee to investigate the allegation.
The Kano state Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.
The committee, which is to be headed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Matters, Dr. Sulaiman Wali Sani has been given ten days to submit its report.
“The committee is mandated to determine the number and distribution of illegal letters of appointment into the state civil service that was produced by some staff of the commission; determine the officers that are responsible for the printing of the illegal letters; establish their source of authority or directives to print the illegal letters; and provide appropriate recommendations to the government in accordance with extant rules,” the statement said.
Pending the completion of the investigation, Salahuddern Isa Habib has been appointed as the Acting Permanent Secretary for the Commission with effect from Monday, 14th August 2023.
