ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi State government has pledged to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects in the state.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Umar Abubakar stated this on Wednesday when he inspected the ongoing Groundnut Oil Shared Facility Factory and Flour Mill.
The Deputy Governor, who also inspected the abandoned Perkeb Ceramic/Plastic Company at Bulasa industrial layout in Birnin Kebbi said that the present administration will revive all moribund industries in the state.
“The Deputy Governor assured of the present administration’s commitment to ensure that all abandoned projects are completed and commissioned for job creation and revenue to the state.
“He lamented on how the projects were abandoned and directed Ministry of Commerce and Industry to immediately forward its submission for further action” a statement issued by the deputy governor’s Press Secretary, Murtala Gotomo said.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ahmed Yarima Dakingari noted that the state government needs to develop access roads, electricity, and installation costs by the state government, for the company to start operations.
This, he said would complement the machineries which were earlier provided by the Federal government.
According to him, the groundnut oil company which has the capacity of processing ten tones of groundnut as raw materials per day, will produce oil and cakes.
Other areas inspected include the Perkeb Ceramic/Plastic Company project, a joint venture between the Kebbi State Government and an Iranian Company named: Pella Melamin Kashan International Company as well as the ongoing state Flour Mill under construction which has reached an advanced stage of completion.
