The Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) has concluded arrangement to set up anti corruption unit in the commission.
The Managing Director of the commission, Abubakar Yelwa disclosed this at a two day workshop in collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on Strict Compliance with Asset Declaration Conduct for the staff of HYPPADEC in Minna on Friday.
Yelwa warned staff against any form of corrupt practices while discharging their official responsibility.
He explained that any staff found wanting would be shown the way out of the system.
He said it’s their concern to ensure every staff goes to CCB to register and fill their forms accordingly.
He explained that the aim of the training is to ensure transparency and accountability in the system.
He further cautioned the staff on not doing what is right devoid of their involvement in any act detrimental to the effective and efficient service delivery.
The managing director said that no any staff would given the opportunity to have any contact with contractors to enhanced zero tolerance for corruption practices
He urged the participants to pay attention with seriousness and ensure strict compliance with the Code of Conduct Bureau act.
Yelwa emphasized that the training and retraining policy would be sustained to ensure optimal performance.
The chairman of CCB, Professor Isah Mohammed represented by Zakaraya Ishaku Bulus applauded the management of HYPPADEC for its interface with various agencies to ensure success through training of the workforce to developed them as public officers in the country
The consultant, Dr Ibrahim Shehu stated that the training consisted of how to fill the access declaration form devoid of error, access declaration in fighting corruption and conflict of interest as causes of corruption among others.
