More details have emerged on the Federal Government’s efforts to rebuild Tudun Biri in Kaduna State after an accidental military drone strike that claimed lives and destroyed properties.
Addressing newsmen on Friday in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the Federal Government adopted a collaborative approach with the state government.
He said this collaboration has led to the construction of 134 housing units in the first phase. Vice President Kashim Shettima has already inaugurated the houses.
Maiyaki stated that the houses were allocated to families of the deceased and other community members.
The commissioner added that the Nigerian military built a school in the community, while the state government allocated new farmlands with Certificates of Occupancy to families whose original lands were affected.
He said the state government also constructed a skills acquisition centre for youth development.
Maiyaki further disclosed that the affected mosque was rebuilt, and a new church was constructed to promote interfaith harmony.
The commissioner added that the government has provided essential infrastructure, including a six-kilometre road, solar-powered street lighting, and a Level-2 health facility.
Tudun Biri, a community near Kaduna International Airport, was hit by an accidental Nigeria Air Force drone strike in December 2023, which resulted in loss of lives and destruction of properties.
