A few days after the Federal Hough Court in Abuja said it ordered the final forfeiture of former governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari’s money in two banks to the federal government, the ex-governor has said the news report is false.
Yari, in a statement by his spokesperson, Mayowa Oluwabiyi made available to newsmen on Thursday said although Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ruled that he should forfeit $669,248 and N24.3 million to the federal government, the court gave him 14 days to show cause why he should not forfeit the money.
He stated that he had no reason to fear because he had declared all the companies and businesses he had to the Code of Conduct Bureau when he assumed office.
Yari further said that his legal team were appealing the judgement at the court of appeal.
