In carrying out its corporate social responsibility (CSR), BUA Cement has provided a 10,000 litres solar borehole with overhead tank for Dagilawa village in Gumbi District of Wamakko local government of Sokoto state.
The company on Thursday, also donated pharmaceutical drugs worth N25 million to clinics in eight host communities of the local government.
The community clinics are Arkilla, Kalambaina, Sabon Garin Alu, Wajeke, Gidan Boka, Gidan Barau, Gidan Kusu and Mobile Police.
The Head of Administration and Corporate Services, Sada Suleiman who represented the Managing Director of the company, Engr. Yusuf Binji said the gesture was to enable host communities enjoy better living conditions from the support of the company to government.
Taking over the borehole at Dagilawa village, the District Head of Gumbi, Mohammadu Mailato appreciated the gesture of BUA Cement and assured that the facility would be put to good use as well as be maintained.
In the same development, while presenting the pharmaceutical drugs on behalf of Engr Binji at Arkilla Clinic, the Director of Marketing and Sales, Abdulganiyu Yusuf said the gesture was to make sure clinics and hospitals in the host communities had adequate drugs.
“What you are witnessing today is that we are giving back in line with what the communities had given to us.
“The beneficiary clinics are, Mobile Police clinic, Gidan Boka clinic, Gidan Bailu clinic, Kalambaina clinic, Barki Kusu clinic, Wajeke clinic, Sabon Garin Alu clinic and Arkilla clinic,” he said.
