The United Kingdom says it would lift travel restrictions and scrap the infamous red list which were enforced due to Omicron variant, Daily Mail has reported.
According to the report, the transport secretary, Grant Shapps had convinced his colleagues that restrictions be replaced with testing for the fully vaccinated.
Most African countries and organisations have lambasted the UK for banning travels from the continent and placing some on its red list.
The Nigerian government had announced that it would place the UK, Canada, and Saudi Arabia on its travel ban list from Tuesday.
British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, had on Wednesday promised to re-examine the UK’s policy following claims that it was unfair and ineffective.
