ASHENEWS reports that Senator Shehu Sani has chided the Nigerian government for its failure to join the Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS), opining that the refusal is retrogressive to the economic future of the country.
Sani stated this in a tweet on his X handle @ShehuSani on Wednesday.
“We can’t afford to lose out in an economic alliance that offers an alternative to the unjust and exploitative order that we belonged for decades.
“Our quest to continue to be the apprentice of Western economic system is leading us to nowhere.
“BRICS is where we should be now not later,” he tweeted.
