ASHENEWS reports that Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared that the Ramadan fast ended on Thursday, April 20, 2023, an equivalence of Ramadan 29, 1444 A.H.
This online platform further reports that the Sultan also affirmed the Eid-el-Fitr will hold on Friday, April 21, 2023, an equivalent of Shawwal 01, 1444 A.H.

The Sultan’s declaration followed the sighting of the new moon in various parts of Nigeria and confirmed by the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs in conjunction with the National Moon Sighting Committee.
According to the Sultan, he accepted the report and accordingly declared Friday as Shawwal 1, 1444 A.H. which is equivalent to April 21, 2023 as day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
He urged prayers for newly elected leaders of the country and called on Muslim faithful to continue to do good towards fellow citizens in accordance with lessons learned in the just ended Holy Month of Ramadan.
He felicitated Nigerian Muslims and wished them God’s guidance and blessings, urging them to continue to pray for peace progress and development of the country.
